The Risky Business of Climate Change Adaptation: Philadelphia Water Department’s Response

The Trump administration is pulling back support for programs aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change. But local communities are stepping in, taking the lead in protecting themselves against the effects of global warming. Philadelphia is one of those cities struggling to adapt to the challenges of  flooding, sea level rise, and increased rainfall. But planning for these risks is not as cut and dry as one might expect. Inevitably, politics enters in.
