Can Electric Vehicles Really Go Mainstream?

Electric powered vehicles are sustainable modes of transportation. Compared to traditional gas-fueled cars, we know they are better for the earth. But how functional are they for the average American? Economic cost and driving range are the most commonly considered factors in deciding this question. Public electric vehicle charging stations are designed to increase driving range, but in Syracuse New York they are not getting much traction.
